Stephen Alfred scored and assisted as Kwara United saw off MFM FC in Ilorin. The visitors who finished 2nd last season fell behind to Segun Alebiosu’s 16th minute goal before they equalized in the 26th minute through Sikiru Olatunbosun. In the second half, Ifeanyi Okoye was fouled in the box and Stephen Alfred converted the resultant penalty. Sunday Odudu put the game beyond MFM FC with a goal in the 75th minute.

Sunshine Stars sank deeper into the relegation waters as they lost 1-0 away to Katsina United with Tasiu Lawal scoring the only goal in the 61st minute. Anthony Okpotu scored his 71st NPFL goal in Lobi Stars 1-0 win over Rangers FC in Markudi.
