How Nigerian Government Can Support The NPFL

There have been recent ,move by Nigerian govt to encourage thes sponsorship to ban forieng sponsorship in favour of the Nigerian professional League. Before I started work on KiniScore.com. I watched several NPFL and GHPFL matches learning it challenges, after researching into these leagues and speaking with key stockholders in in 2016. I realized a a number of brands will rather put money in EPL at a premium than NPFL. There is a reason GLO and MTN pulled out on league sponsorship in past. In as much as I really want more investment in the league, you can not legislate brands to start supporting NPFL where critical elements are still missing:
- About 90% of NPFL clubs are still owned by govt except MFM FC, FC Ifeanyi Uba and ABS FC  (owned by Bukola Saraki)
- There is still pockets of thuggery and intimidation for fans and officials during match days
- Still about 5-8% away teams win rate.
- Supersport just pulled out of showing the league on TV
- Club activities are more of ogboni fraternity

I wonder where the same govt was when the number 3 man in Nigeria (who owns ABS FC ) decided to get PUMA kit instead of a local brand?

Truely the NPFL league is better now than 5yrs ago.

Brands follow tthe money not by banning sponsors. The govt must comet to the table clean and stop being hypocritical. No one knows the value of the current league sponsorship talkless of clubs football players. Most Club officials still don't see need to upgrade stadiums and create external revenue because there will be monthly allocation. Govt needs to put  these things in place first, create autonomy for club and give incentives to encourage investment then every thing shall be fine. Id like to get your thoughts.
